This year we are commemorating Women's Equality Day at the Ausable Chasm Gazebo with parking near the North Star Underground Railroad Museum at 1131 Mace Chasm Road. The program is: "Two Battles, One Ballot: African American Women and the Struggle for Equal Voting Rights." North Country Underground Railroad Historical Association President Jacqueline Madison explores the extraordinary determination of Black women who fought simultaneously against racial discrimination and gender inequality to secure the right to vote. Additionally, we will hear the events and activities that each of our collaborating organizations have planned. Refreshments will be served. The public is encouraged to attend and bring your lunch.
