John Haff was a hotel owner in Fishkill, NY before the war. When he was
granted land, he moved to Peru and finished building his farm house in 1804.
Mrs. Neyenhouse told my grandmother in the 1960s that the house was little changed
except for a long horse and carriage shed that had been removed from the back of the house.
