9:00am The 15th Annual Peterboro Emancipation Day will be held at the Gerrit Smith Estate National Historic Landmark, 5304 Oxbow Road, Peterboro New York.
Each year the committee replicates activities that ancestors began in 1925 to commemorate the abolition of enslavement.

7:00pm Anderson Falls Heritage Society presents Port Kent: A Virtual Walking Tour. Over its nearly 200 years of existence Port Kent has progressed through several stages: a hopeful commercial center venture to the residential community of today.
Guest Speaker: Don Wickman—retired director of the Kent-Delord House Museum in Plattsburgh and the author of A Very Fine Appearance: The Civil War Photographs of George Houghton.

New York City tried to confiscate the home of Mama Joy at 227 Duffield. She fought back—and WON. In the process, she created a movement to respect the Black history of Downtown Brooklyn. Come join the Mama Joy's Abolitionist Juneteenth Tour to hear stories of countless heroes and sheroes, and see how their stories have been erased from our streets.

The Juneteenth "Colors of Freedom in the Adirondacks" tour will feature different stops with reenactments, food, entertainment, and celebrations of the freedom spirit in Clinton and Essex Counties.
The tour begins at the North Star Underground Railroad Museum (1131 Mace Chasm Road, Ausable Chasm, NY)
For those wishing to use their own transportation, the charge to participate in the tour is $10 per person or $20 for a family pass.
There is also an option to ride the tour bus, the cost of which is $10 per person (round trip). The bus will pick up passengers at the North Star Museum and return to the museum to drop passengers off at the end of the day.

Pre-registration is required by June 20.

In celebration of Juneteenth, there will be an art exhibit of Black artists at the SUNY Plattsburgh Art Museum. Exhibits will include:
Reflections: Intimate Portraits of Iconic African Americans – General Colin Powell, Lois Mailou Jones, Dr. Dorothy Height, Congressman Charles Wrangel, and more.
"a process, a discovery": A celebration of Black artists in SUNY Plattsburgh's Collections - The title is a quote by poet Yusef Komunyakaa, reflecting on his writing practice upon his visit to SUNY Plattsburgh in 1995. Works on display include artwork from the Plattsburgh State Art Museum and ephemera from Feinberg Library Special Collections that highlight notable Black artists, writers, and musicians.
