The New York State Path Through History Weekend will include the 16th annual Museum Day. Sixteen museums and cultural sites will participate, including the North Star Underground Railroad Museum. A 2025 Arts & History Passport will be available.

11:00am American Legion Post 1619, the Clinton County American Legion, the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), and the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) will proudly honor the Revolutionary War Soldiers in the Baker Cemetery in West Plattsburgh, New York. The Legion will be posting colors with a rifle salute and taps. Legion members will be in Honor Guard Uniforms and Revolutionary War Uniforms and there will be a display of flags of that period.
The Saranac Chapter, NSDAR, will be rededicating four original markers and one replacement plaque at the gravesites of five Revolutionary War veterans. These markers were originally placed by the DAR on 11 October 1923.

6:30pm This spring marks the 250th anniversary of the beginning of the Revolutionary War and the patriots' capture of Fort Ticonderoga led by Benedict Arnold. During the following year, Arnold played a crucial role in the defense of Lake Champlain and the Battle of Valcour Island. Jack Kelly's book God Save Benedict Arnold details the often neglected heroism of the man who would later become America's most notorious traitor.
Jack Kelly will give a presentation based on his book at the Plattsburgh Memorial Chapel, 100 US Oval, Plattsburgh, NY 12903.

4:00pm A local hill has recently been renamed Murry Hill through the USGS. The Murrys were African-American pioneers who were granted land by Gerrit Smith in 1847 in Vermontville. To celebrate, there will be a brief outdoor ceremony at Wesley Murry's gravesite in Union Cemetery, 7936 State Route 3, Vermontville, NY.
A reception will follow at Hex and Hop Brewing, 1719 State Route 3, Bloomingdale, NY.

Norman K. Dann PhD, researcher and biographer of members of the Gerrit Smith family of Peterboro, opens an eight-program series The Gerrit Smith Family of Peterboro, NY and the Crusade for Human Rights at the Smithfield Community Center, 5255 Pleasant Valley Road, Peterboro, NY 13134.
The first presentation is from research that Dann did for the biography Peter Smith: Furs, Land, and Anguish. Dann examines the life of Peter Smith after whom the hamlet of Peterboro and the Town of Smithfield were named.
Due to challenges of funding cuts, admission is donation by cash, check, or credit card.

1:00pm The annual party to commemorate the birth of abolitionist Gerrit Smith will be held at the Smithfield Community Center, 5255 Pleasant Valley Road, Peterboro, NY 13134.
Hosted by the Smithfield Community Association, the afternoon will begin with the cutting and sharing of the birthday cake. At 1:30 brief information on upcoming projects and programs in the Town of Smithfield / Hamlet of Peterboro will be shared. The Peterboro Academy will be launched. Gerrit Smith biographer Norman K. Dann PhD will honor Smith with the announcement of a forthcoming book in 2025 on Smith's remarkable relationship with Frederick Douglass. Dann will also outline a series of eight two-hour programs on Peterboro 19th C. history planned for April and May.
